New Delhi. A strange incident has come to light in Texas, America. Suddenly the cow’s milk turned thick. Not only this, the colour of the milk also started fading from white. When the Health Department investigated the matter, everyone was shocked. Actually, this is a case of bird flu. It may sound a bit strange but it is true. This bird flu has affected milk-giving cows and not anyone else. This is the first time in the world that bird flu has spread in cows. It has been formally confirmed by the US Department of Agriculture.

In a statement, the US Department of Agriculture said that this disease is being investigated among cows in old dairies mainly in Texas, Kansas and New Mexico, which is causing a decrease in lactation, less appetite and other symptoms. Some farmers in these areas found a large number of birds dead in their fields. All these birds were migratory. Which often come to these areas in this season. When investigated, it was found that this virus has reached the cows from these birds. It was told that till now very few cows have lost their lives due to this virus. However, it is also being said that due to bird flu in cows, milk production in these provinces has fallen by about 40 percent.

Is the infection spreading among people as well?
The Department of Agriculture said, “Dairies have been instructed to supply only milk from healthy animals. Milk from animals infected with bird flu has been ordered to be destroyed immediately so that it does not enter the food supply. In addition, pasteurization has been consistently proven to inactivate bacteria and viruses, such as influenza, in milk. Pasteurization is required for any milk entering interstate commerce.”
