Palash Muchhal was born on Monday, 22 May 1995 (age 28 years; as of 2023) in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. His zodiac sign is Gemini. He pursued a bachelor of commerce degree at a college in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. In an interview about his career, he revealed that his love for music began at four years old. He mentioned that his sister, Palak Muchhal, who is a singer, performed in London once and brought back gifts and chocolates for him. This inspired him to think that he could also receive such treats if he sang like her. As a result, Palash joined Kalyanji-Anandji’s Little Stars group, where Anandji Shah became his mentor. This gave him the chance to be involved in Anandji Shah’s global music projects. Some reports suggested that he was in a relationship with the Indian cricketer, Smriti Mandhana. She represents the Indian women’s national team and participated in the Women’s Premier League as a Royal Challengers Bangalore player. For the past four years, he has reportedly been in a relationship with Smriti Mandhana, and they often share pictures of each other on social media. On 18 July 2023, Smriti celebrated her 27th birthday in Dhaka while playing in an ODI series against Bangladesh Women. On the eve of the second 50-over match, the Indian team threw a birthday party for her. Palash Muchhal flew to Dhaka to join the celebration and posted a lovely picture of the two on Instagram, sending his birthday wishes to the star Indian cricketer. He had appeared in a few advertisement commercials before his debut as a Bollywood actor. It was during this time that the Indian director, Ashutosh Gowariker, noticed him and decided to cast him in his upcoming film. Reportedly, Gowariker was charmed by the composer’s curly hair. Palash made his acting debut in Ashutosh Gowariker’s Indian Hindi-language historical action-adventure film titled “Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey.” The film, starring Abhishek Bachchan and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles, was released on 3 December 2010. Palash played the character of Subodh Roy.

Some reports suggested that the Indian actor and producer Harman Baweja first met Palash at the premiere of the movie “Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey,” and after the premiere, Baweja took the chance to listen to some of Palash’s songs and later introduced him to Shilpa Shetty Kundra. Shilpa Shetty Kundra was impressed when she heard Palash’s songs. As a result, she offered him an opportunity to work in the film “Dishkiyaoon,” which she produced. In 2014, when he was 18 years old, he made his debut as a composer. In an interview, Palash shared a touching story about his song ‘Tu Hi Hai Aashiqui’ from Dishkiyaoon. His sister sang for him in Dishkiyaoon and described it as an incredibly touching experience for both him and his family. Furthermore, the song received numerous compliments from fans not only in India but also in Pakistan, the US, and Dubai.

Palash’s song ‘Party Toh Banti Hai’ was included in Bhushan Kumar’s film Bhootnath Returns. While he was asked about his experience working in the film, Palash mentioned that The Meet Brothers were already working on the project and supported him throughout, making the collaboration a fantastic experience. He also shared how his excitement soared when Amitabh Bachchan himself danced to his tunes. He has created music for several Bollywood movies, such as Bhoothnath Returns (2014), Dishkiyaoon (2014), and Amit Sahni Ki List (2014). Some of his famous songs include “Party Toh Banti Hai” from Bhoothnath Returns, “Tu hi hai Aashiqui” from Dishkiyaoon, and “What The Fark” from Amit Sahni Ki List. In 2017, he worked on the music for a video called “Tu Jo Kahe,” which featured Parth Samthaan and Anmol Malik. Then, in 2018, he was involved in the music production for two more videos: “Nishaa,” starring Parth Samthaan and Charlie Chauhan, and “Fans nahi Friends,” which featured Parth Samthaan, Niti Taylor, and Varun Sharma.
Direction
The Indian Hindi-language drama film “Ardh” was written and directed by Palash Muchhal. This movie starred famous actors Rajpal Yadav and Rubina Dilaik. On 10 June 2022, the film premiered on ZEE5. Palash’s work as a debut director was widely recognized, and he was honoured with the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Excellence Award for Best Debut Direction.

Altercation During An Event
During the Taj Mahotsava event in Uttar Pradesh on 2 March 2018, the Uttar Pradesh Police made a report against Palash Muchhal. He was said to have behaved badly with someone from the organizing committee. Sudhir Narain, a member of the committee, complained that during Palak Muchhal’s performance on 27 February 2018, Palash got into a big argument with him. Palash accused the committee of treating his mother poorly, and according to Sudhir Narain, he was slapped and threatened during the incident. The report was made under 323, 504, 506, 332, and 427 sections of the Indian Penal Code.

- In 2014, his sister sang for him in the movie “Dishkiyaoon,” which marked his debut as a composer. He described it as a deeply touching moment for him and his family. In an interview, he talked about their relationship and how they have lots of fun as siblings at home. However, when they enter a music studio, they switch to a professional approach. They also make it a point to attend the first screening of their films together.

- He is famous for arranging many stage shows in India and other countries to collect funds and help children in need, especially those with heart diseases. Since 2000, Palak and her brother have been travelling extensively across India and other nations for their charity shows named “Dil Se Dil Tak” in Hindi and “Save Little Hearts” in English. It has been reported that until October 2020, Palak Muchhal and her brother saved the lives of 2,200 children through their charitable work.

- As per some reports, Bollywood director Gowariker once said to Palash’s mother that he thought her son would become an actor in the future. Nevertheless, she firmly believed that her son would stay committed to music. As fate would have it, her judgment turned out to be true.
- Palash composed the song ‘Party Toh Banti Hai’ to promote a gym product. Coincidentally, the gym owner lived in the same building as Bhushan Kumar. When the gym owner played the song for Bhushan Kumar, he loved it so much that he called and asked for the song to be used in the film Bhootnath Returns.
- In the interview, when questioned about starting as a composer at the age of 18, he expressed that age doesn’t play a role in the music industry. He believed that the quality of your work is what truly matters. He talked about his experiences working with singers like Arijit Singh, Mika Singh, and Javed Ali, who treated him respectfully during song recording sessions, even calling him ‘sir.’ However, he also shared that some people initially overlooked him because of his age. Nonetheless, he was determined to prove himself through his impressive work. As a result, many of those doubters eventually recognized his talent and offered him opportunities to work on their projects.
