Laura Harris is an Australian cricketer who was selected by the team Delhi Capitals for the Women’s Premier League (cricket) in 2023. She is a right-hand batsman who has played for the Queensland Fire cricket team in the Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL) and the Brisbane Heat cricket team in the Women’s Big Bash League.

Nurse
Laura started her career as a registered nurse in 2014 at QE2 Hospital, Coopers Plains, Australia and worked there till 2018. She also worked as a registered nurse at Queensland Health. In 2018, she started working at Logan Hospital, Australia. While she was working as a nurse, in 2018, she decided that she wanted to play professional cricket. In an interview, she talked about working as a nurse and said,
Originally, I wanted to be a physio but I saw my older sister studying it and it was two years of books so I decided that wasn’t for me, I didn’t enjoy being stuck behind a desk. Nursing was sort of my next thing along, I had a go and it’s worked out alright, since the move to emergency I’ve loved it being on the go all the time and I haven’t wanted to do anything else.”

I try not to look at the scoreboard as much as I can … because I just overthink it and then it all turns a bit silly. I actually didn’t even know that I had hit the hundred until I turned around and said to (Hinkley), ‘What was that they were clapping?’ I’m a pretty chronic overthinker, but that comes with the game.”
