Politics
Hari Sahni contested in the 2015 Bihar Legislative Assembly election from Bahadurpur under the BJP’s ticket but lost. He was the district president and district in-charge of Darbhanga for the BJP. Hari Sahni is a leader from the Economically Backwards Classes (EBC). In 2020, he was nominated as a candidate from Keoti in Darbhanga, but he withdrew from the election after the party chose to put forward Murari Mohan Jha, a Brahmin candidate, to maintain a balanced representation in the area. The party later emerged victorious in the Keoti constituency and appointed Hari Sahni as a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) for Bihar in 2022. Hari Sahni also took part in the 2022 Kurhani By-polls campaigning. In August 2023, he replaced Samrat Chaudhary as the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) of the Bihar Legislative Council.
