Farzana came into the spotlight in 2023 when journalist, news presenter, and biographer Yasser Usman hinted at a “secret relationship” between Rekha and her in his book ‘Rekha: The Untold Story.’

Rekha and Farzana – A Mysterious Relationship
According to Rekha’s biography, written by Yasser Usman, Farzana and Rekha share a romantic and potentially sexual relationship. The book further claims that the relationship is sexual. Reviewers of the book have stated,
Farzana is a perfect partner for Rekha. She is her consultant, her friend, and her supporter, and Rekha simply can’t live without her.”

Rekha’s sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Anil Gupta, have also claimed that Farzana and Rekha are in a relationship. While talking about this, in an interview, she revealed that when the entire family gathered in Delhi for family events, they noticed a significant change in Rekha’s behaviour whenever Farzana was around. Rekha’s sister-in-law, in an interview, said,
Something different was going on between Rekha and Farzana. Being friends or being sisters is very different, but Rekha and Farzana’s behavior was not the same. Rekha and Farzana had such a relationship like that of a husband and wife. I have seen all this with my own eyes.”
Career
Farzana worked as Rekha’s hairdresser in the 1980s. By 1986, she became her secretary. In 1988, Farzana moved to Rekha’s house and has resided there ever since.

- Farzana is mostly seen wearing men’s wear.
- She is reportedly so close to Rekha that she is the only one allowed in Rekha’s bedroom, a privilege not even extended to the housekeeping staff.
- Even though Rekha’s husband Mukesh Aggarwal stated in his suicide note that no one was responsible for his death, Rekha was still blamed for his demise. There were also rumours suggesting that Farzana could have been one of the reasons for Mukesh death.
